Rapid Responses for Communities to Address COVID-19 Housing Crises

The combination of the underlying crisis in housing affordability and the economic slowdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic is putting over 20% of the population in many communities in a precarious position in regard to maintaining their housing. Short-term measures to augment unemployment payments, limit evictions and allow mortgage forbearance will not last long. Then, it could get ugly quickly--unless leaders in different sectors of communities move quickly to take steps now.
