Join the Positive Schools Center (PSC) and the University of Maryland TA Network for PUSHOUT: A Conversation About School and Black Girls in America. This series features screenings of the PUSHOUT documentary, keynotes, and discussions on the punitive practices and policies in schools that disrupt Black girls’ well-being. This virtual series takes place over two days on January 20 and 27, 2021. Each session provides an opportunity to view part of the film and engage in extensive dialogue about the effects of childhood trauma, adultification, criminalization, racialized gender bias, and school-to-confinement pathways, in addition to alternatives to exclusionary discipline practices. Registrants can attend one session or both sessions. The PUSHOUT series is free. Registration is limited.
