Mothering in Recovery

May 20, 2021 from 2-3 pm ET

What does it mean to be a mother in recovery—especially during these uncertain times? Mothers in substance use and mental health recovery face unique challenges. The stigma and shame associated with a substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health diagnosis and being a mother can feel very overwhelming and often discourages those who need help from seeking assistance out of fear of judgement and child protective services involvement. Many families feel hopeless and isolated.
