The Indiana Victim Assistance Training Project will host the last fundamental level training academy for 2020. The Indiana Victim Assistance Basic Academy is an entry-level program that provides comprehensive, accessible, diverse and affordable training to those who provide direct services to victims of crime. This 40-hour program is provided over three weeks through a combination of in-person* (* Social distancing guidelines will be followed.) and webinar sessions.
The Training Project has opened the application process for the Academy which will be held September 14- October 1, 2020. The in-person sessions will occur in Indianapolis. Applications will be accepted through August 14th, 2020.
The Academy is open to anyone employed by a government or non-profit agency that provides direct services to crime victims and has held their current position for three years or less. There is no charge to attend the Academy, however, accepted students are required to participate fully and complete all sessions.
