Addressing Racial and Ethnic Disparities that Criminalize Communities of Color

Restorative Justice: Addressing Racial and Ethnic Disparities that Criminalize Communities of Color
January 25 @ 2 p.m. ET

As a nation, we are navigating two pandemics: COVID-19 and racism — underscoring the urgency with which we must collectively fight for the liberation of our most oppressed populations.

This webinar, the first in a two-part series, will focus on the need to constantly center racial justice and end the criminalization of people and communities. Speakers will discuss how, with the popularization of restorative justice in recent years, we have seen a cooptation of restorative approaches and a disconnect with the philosophies that ground them — ultimately disserving people of color and perpetuating racial hierarchies and disparities in our society.

There will be plenty of time for open discussion about how we can refine modern restorative justice practices to serve BIPOC better.
