7 Compassion-In-Action Principles for Faith Communities to Address Mental Illness Webinar

Now more than ever, addressing mental health is important for all of us, including faith communities. But many times, faith leaders don’t know where to start even when people come to them with mental health concerns. The HHS Partnership Center developed a new resource to meet this need titled Compassion in Action: A Guide for Faith Communities Serving People Experiencing Mental Illness and their Caregivers. The Compassion in Action Guide provides this starting point and outlines seven principles to inform actions addressing mental illness.

This webinar will be taught by Ben O’Dell, a Program Specialist at the Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He will provide an overview of the Guide and will highlight actions from the principles that empower faith and community leaders to address mental health in their congregation and community.
