Invitation to Attend 2018 Indiana CHW/CRS Annual Conference

Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana, the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction, and the CHW/CRS Annual Conference Planning Committee wishes to invite you to join us for the 2018 Indiana Community Health Worker/Certified Recovery Specialist Annual Conference on April 30, 2018 in Fort Wayne, IN.


This conference is open to the general public. You do not need to be a CHW or CHW/CRS in order to attend. Conference speakers will provide a plethora of valuable information for anyone working in the mental health field.


The conference is an opportunity for you to connect and network with other mental health professionals and learn knowledge and skills beneficial to the important work that you do. The schedule of presenters is outlined below. CEUs will be available for social workers, mental health professionals, and law enforcement for $10.

Conference Schedule

8 AM - Registration & Light Breakfast
8:45 AM - Welcome
9 AM - Keynote: Working with People in a Crisis
Speaker: Dottie Davis
Dottie served nearly 32 years with the Fort Wayne Police Department retiring as a Deputy Chief.  She has served the last 5 years working as the Director of Security for Fort Wayne Community Schools. Since 2000, she has provided training to law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, clergy and communities on topics concerning family violence, sexual assault, and mental illness.
9:45 AM - Keynote: Big Mama's Chair
Speaker: LaDonna Wattley, LCSW
LaDonna Wattley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with twenty years of experience in the child welfare field. She is a gifted presenter, and has been the featured speaker at conferences across the U.S. Conference attendees credit her passion, sense of humor, and story-telling ability as the reasons that she is such a sought-after speaker.

11 AM - Keynote: Real World Ethics
Speaker: Ruth Case, CHW/CRS
Using her combined IT, clinical and managerial experiences in the behavioral health field, Ruth began providing consulting services and training services to behavioral health organizations in 2004. Her company, Case Consulting Corporation, is an Indiana State Certified Women Business Enterprise. Ruth has a passion for supporting recovery and is a CHW/CRS.
