2019 Stand Against Racism

Stand Against Racism is an annual awareness event where YWCA’s across the country hold events to raise awareness about diversity, promote inclusion, and eliminate racism. Join YWCA Northeast Indiana on Sunday, April 28, 2019, for a free community viewing of Documented, followed by a short discussion of the film.

About Documented:

In 2011, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas outed himself as an undocumented immigrant in an essay published in the New York Times MagazineDocumented chronicles his journey to America from the Philippines as a child; his journey through America as an immigration reform activist; and his journey inward as he re-connects with his mother, whom he hasn't seen in person in over 20 years. A broken immigration system leads to broken families and broken lives.

This event will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Indiana Tech's Magee Theater 1600 East Washington Boulevard, Fort Wayne, IN 46803
