Your Baby’s Health and Cannabinoids

  • Morning sickness, stress, pain, nausea—  If you have any of these symptoms, there are ways to manage them that don’t harm your baby. Ask your doctor, HP, or nurse midwife. There are other methods that do not contain cannabinoids.
  • THC can pass to your baby during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
  • Smoking marijuana has as many if not more carcinogens as smoking tobacco.
  • The marijuana plant pulls heavy metals from the soil that are harmful to infants’ development.
  • Any consumption such as smoking, eating or dabbing cannabinoids are contra indicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Babies exposed to THC can have problems with feedings, playing attention and learning. You may not see some effects until your child is older.
  • Marijuana and CBD oil are not safe in pregnancy according to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. “Natural” does not mean safe; talk to your doctor about ways to reduce and stop your consumption of CBD and THC products.
